Be a giver. The reason for a hopeful legacy: The Narcissist
It all started when…
“I simply wanted to list a few ‘acts of kindness’ on the back label of the wine brand, ‘The Narcissist’.”
The reasoning behind the whole idea was to combat my own anger and frustration with a person that was wreaking havoc in my family’s life.
The anger and frustration wasn’t simply about what someone else was doing to me or my loved ones, but about the frustration of what I needed to do to offset my own selfishness to actually make a difference in the world.
“There were things I thought I could do to ‘neutralize’ the selfish acts that were either part of my own character or the selfish things people do to each other daily.”
“I thought, ‘If I could just do one thing to lessen the effect of stress or destructive behaviors during the course of the day, maybe it would influence someone else to do the same.”
“So I wrote, ‘Withholding my own pain to comfort another.’ Then, ‘Waiting a moment to allow another vehicle to enter my lane.’, then, ‘Passing a mirror without a glance’, and ‘Sending a gift anonymously.’”
The back label reads, “The Antidote” and is simply a few of my own personal suggestions of things that might reduce the friction we encounter with each other daily.
If I could simply help to reduce a little stress on someone else’s life for a moment, then maybe a string of those moments would lead to an infectious pattern of giving that someone else might follow.
No one ever changed the world without true selfless acts of kindness or the literal laying down of a life to save another.
Please follow along as we identify the selfless organizations that help to reduce the ‘narcissistic haze’ of our modern society.
Our mantra is to live out the philosophy of , “Be a giver” and in process, produce a “cure for selfish wines”, and that is…. ~ The Narcissist
Call me a dreamer….
